Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC)

Overview:

The Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) is a dedicated body established within an institution to address and combat discrimination in all its forms. Discrimination can manifest based on factors such as race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age, or any other characteristic that leads to unequal treatment or prejudice. The ADC works proactively to promote equality, diversity, and inclusion, striving to create environments where all individuals are respected, valued, and provided with equal opportunities.

Objectives:

  1. The ADC aims to raise awareness about various forms of discrimination and their impact on individuals and society.
  2. ADC is to implement policies and procedures that prevent discrimination from occurring within the organization or community.
  3. The ADC provides support and assistance to individuals who have experienced discrimination.
  4. The committee advocates for changes in laws, policies, and practices that perpetuate discrimination.
  5. The ADC works to create environments that embrace diversity and promote inclusion.
  6. The committee provides training programs and workshops to educate members of the organization about diversity, inclusion, and the importance of combating discrimination.
  7. The ADC regularly monitors the organization or community for signs of discrimination and evaluates the effectiveness of its strategies and interventions.

Anti-Ragging Committee (ARC)

Overview:

The Anti-Ragging Committee (ARC) is a specialized body formed within educational institutions to eradicate the menace of ragging. Ragging refers to any form of verbal, physical, or psychological abuse or harassment inflicted upon new students by their seniors. It can include activities ranging from harmless pranks to severe forms of bullying that may have lasting detrimental effects on the victims. The ARC is dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all students by implementing strict measures to prevent and address incidents of ragging.

Objectives:

  1. The primary objective of the Anti-Ragging Committee is to prevent instances of ragging from occurring within the educational institution.
  2. The ARC ensures that the institution’s anti-ragging regulations and policies are strictly enforced.
  3. In the unfortunate event that ragging does occur, the ARC provides immediate support and assistance to the victims.
  4. The committee organizes awareness programs, workshops, and seminars to educate students about the harmful effects of ragging and the importance of maintaining a respectful and supportive environment for all.
  5. The ARC establishes confidential reporting mechanisms through which students can report incidents of ragging without fear of retaliation.
  6. The committee collaborates with law enforcement agencies, educational authorities, and other relevant stakeholders to coordinate efforts in combating ragging.
  7. The ARC conducts regular monitoring and evaluation of its anti-ragging initiatives to assess their effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

The ASHC is dedicated to creating safe spaces where individuals are protected from such behaviour, and where they can work or interact without fear of harassment or discrimination based on gender or sexual orientation.

Objectives:

  1. The ASHC is to prevent instances of sexual harassment from occurring within the organization or community.
